Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the types of multidimensional poverty in elderly cohorts, and to analyze how these types change over time. The poverty type of the 1950s cohort was ¡°non-poverty type¡±, ¡°multiple low poverty type¡± in 2009, and ¡°non-poverty type¡±, ¡°low financial poverty type¡± in 2018. The poverty type of the 1940s cohort was ¡°non-poverty type¡±, ¡°finance/health/leisure-poverty type¡±, ¡°income/housing-poverty type¡± in 2009, and ¡°income-poverty type¡±, ¡°non-poverty type¡±, ¡°finance/health/leisure-poverty type¡± in 2018. The 1930s cohort was ¡°low income-poverty type¡±, ¡°high finance/health/housing-poverty type¡±, ¡°high finance/health/leisure-poverty type¡± in 2009, and ¡°high finance/health-poverty type¡±, ¡°low income-poverty type¡±, ¡°high finance/health/leisure-poverty type¡± in 2018. The transition characteristics of the multidimensional poverty type by cohort can be summarized as follows; Firstly, the transition probability by cohort was different. Secondly, the transition probability to the negative type was high. Thirdly, the transition probability from ¡°non-poverty type¡± to ¡°multidimensional poverty type¡± was low. Fourthly, the probability of transition between similar types was high. Fifthly, some transition to the positive type also occurred. Based on these results, this study suggested some policy interventions to prevent negative transition of multidimensional poverty in the elderly.
